Polyester (PES) - Tensile strength and dimensionally stable

When manufacturing our products, we consistently focus on quality and performance - and this begins with the selection of the right Yarnsbecause the selection of the right yarn material is a decisive factor for the performance and durability of technical textiles such as our rubber ropes. One of the four specialised yarn typesthat we primarily use is Polyester (PES).

Polyester is impressive when it comes to high strength, good dimensional stability and excellent UV resistance. These properties make polyester the first choice for outdoor use and where there is increased exposure to sunlight. PES also offers individual colour options for special design requirements.

Properties and advantages of polyester

• High tensile and tear strength - Very robust and resilient
• Good abrasion resistance - resists mechanical wear
• Dimensionally stable and dimensionally stable - hardly warps
• High elasticity - stretchy with good resilience
• Very low moisture absorption - Dries quickly
• High, long-lasting durability - Durable and resistant

• Melting point: approx. 250-260 °C
• Continuous operating temperature: up to approx. 150 °C
• Good heat resistance - retains properties even at higher temperatures

• Very good light and UV resistance - remains out less than many other synthetic fibres
• Excellent chemical resistance - especially against acids
• hydrophobic - absorbs hardly any water
• Very good dyeability - Permanent colours possible
• recyclable - thermoplastically recyclable

Polyester offers many advantages when used as a braiding material, which are ideal for many applications. However, you don't have to stick with just one yarn for your rubber cord: the combination of of different yarns by means of double braidingthe properties of different yarn materials can be combined with each other.
